Fair Use Policy

This Fair Use Policy ("FUP") is applicable to the use of the services
("services") offered by Tilburg University on the UvT Open Source Web
and VC server (which likely is called freitag.uvt.nl) ("the
machine") to user.  The machine is administered by Joost van Baal
(possibly with help from others) ("the administrators").

The administrators reserve the right to change the FUP from time to time
at their sole discretion. Use of the services will be subject to the
most current version of the FUP at the time of such use, which is this
document, available at http://non-gnu.uvt.nl/fup.txt.  At any change of
the FUP, the administrators will send the current version to an email
address of user's choice.

User will not authorise or facilitate the use of her[1] account by any
other person. Therefore, user will seriously protect her access tokens,
such as SSH private keys, against unauthorised access.

If user learns that her access token has been compromised, the
administrators will be notified immediately and user will cease to use
the machine in any way or form until new tokens have been received and
permission has been granted by the administrators.

User will not use her account to access, or attempt to gain access to
any computer, computer account, network or files without proper and
explicit authorization. Such access is illegal under Dutch Law.

User will not use the system for obtaining, making, running or
distributing unauthorized copies of software, nor will she use the
facilities for obtaining or distributing unauthorized copies of any
other data, such as copyright protected mp3 files.

User will not upload any pornographic, discriminating or otherwise
offensive material to the machine.

User understands her usage of the system may interfere with the usage by
other users. Therefore, she will behave reasonably with respect to
consumption of computer resources such as bandwidth, diskspace, cpu cycles
and memory. She will behave as a responsible user of the system.

User will not use the machine to send out unsolicited bulk email
("spam") and will behave as a good Netizen, when operating from or via
the machine.

User understands that acting in breach of any of the principles set out
above will incur in termination of her user account and any other
services offered to her.

User realises that this Fair Use Policy does not substitute the Rules of Usage
as required by Tilburg University, as available from
http://www.uvt.nl/diensten/its/algemeen/reglement-computernetwerk.html
(an english translation is available from
http://www.tilburguniversity.nl/services/its/general/rules.html), but that it
merely adds to those Rules.
